PRODUCT PARAMETERS

Stainless steel soft wire is a heat treatment process that uses hydrogen gas to anneal stainless steel wire. The main goal of this process is to improve the mechanical properties and surface quality of the wire, relieve internal stresses, enhance corrosion resistance, or alter the microstructure.


Stainless Steel Soft Wire Production Process


  • Annealing: The key step in soft wire production is annealing, which softens the stainless steel. The material is heated to a specified temperature (usually 900°C to 1100°C), then slowly cooled, removing any internal stresses from cold working and improving its ductility and machinability.

  • Drawing: After annealing, the material is further drawn into finer wire using a die to achieve the desired diameter.

  • Pickling and Passivation: After annealing, soft wire typically undergo pickling and passivation to remove surface oxide scales and enhance corrosion resistance.
