PRODUCT PARAMETERS
Stainless steel spring wire is a type of wire made from stainless steel that is specifically designed for use in springs and other applications requiring high strength, durability, and resistance to corrosion. Stainless steel spring wire is known for its excellent mechanical properties, including high tensile strength, good fatigue resistance, and the ability to withstand repeated stress and strain without permanent deformation.
Stainless Steel Spring Wire Production Process
Heat Treatment (Annealing)
Spring wire typically undergoes annealing to improve ductility and toughness and to relieve internal stresses caused by previous cold working. The annealing temperature is typically around 700°C~800°C.
After annealing, the wire is treated to remove internal stresses, ensuring it remains flexible and fatigue-resistant.
Cold Drawing
Spring wire is usually manufactured through cold drawing, which precisely controls the wire's diameter and surface quality. Cold drawing improves the wire's strength and hardness while reducing surface roughness.
Ageing (Stress Relief) Annealing
Some high-load spring wires undergo aging annealing to improve their fatigue resistance and durability, ensuring they perform reliably under repeated stress.
Surface Treatment
For applications with high corrosion resistance requirements (such as medical, food, or chemical industries), spring wire may undergo pickling, passivation, or galvanizing to improve corrosion resistance.
Forming and Processing
The finished spring wire is often used in winding machines to produce various types of springs (e.g., compression springs, tension springs, torsion springs), followed by additional heat treatment (e.g., tempering or aging) to enhance elasticity, strength, and fatigue resistance.
Stainless Steel Spring Wire Features
High elasticity and resilience
Stainless steel spring wire has excellent elasticity and resilience after cold drawing or heat treatment, and can maintain the stability of shape and performance in repeated stretching, compression or bending.
Excellent corrosion resistance
Stainless steel materials (such as 304, 316, etc.) give spring wire extremely strong corrosion resistance, which can be used for a long time in harsh environments such as acid, alkali, salt spray, etc., and is particularly suitable for humid or chemical corrosion occasions.
High strength and fatigue resistance
It has high tensile strength and fatigue strength, and is suitable for withstanding long-term repeated stress without breaking or deformation.
Excellent high temperature resistance
Stainless steel spring wire has stable performance in high temperature environment, can maintain good elasticity and strength, and is suitable for manufacturing springs used in high temperature environment.
Smooth and beautiful surface
The surface of stainless steel spring wire has been finely processed, smooth and burr-free, with a low friction coefficient, which is both beautiful and can reduce wear caused by friction.
Easy to process
Spring wire can be made into springs or parts of various complex shapes through processes such as drawing, winding, and welding, and it is not easy to break.
